DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY
These camps aim to provide children and adults with a unique holiday camp experience that they would not be able to have on regular holiday camps due to their personal limitations. We run a series of activities aimed at campers’ varied developmental levels. Each camper is paired with a one-on-one carer for the week, with several additional camp leaders and buddies providing supervision. These camps also provide parents and carers with an opportunity to have a week of respite from their daily care provision.
For Children
7 – 18 years
Camp Jono is an exciting week long Christian camp for kids aged 7-18 with intellectual and developmental
disabilities.
Each camper that comes along gets a buddy for the week who is at camp to help their camper have a great time.
The week is packed full of games and exciting activities specifically suited for young people with a disability.
For Young Adults
18 – 35 years
Camp Sam is a weekend Christian camp for young adults, 18-30 years.
Even though it only goes for 3 days, the weekend is full of activities, games and challenges that everyone enjoys.
Camp Sam has a great energy about it with everyone at camp always loving their weekend.
For Adults
18 + years
Camp David is a week long Christian camp for adults with intellectual disabilities. It is a great chance to get away for a week, meet some new people and try new things.
Our team is extremely friendly. They want to make sure that you have a great time at camp. Our program always includes outings, crafts, games and our favourite night of camp, Talent Night!
For Children
7 – 18 years
“Serving at Camp Jono has been one of the most influential experiences
of my life. Over the years I have served as a buddy, a leader and as Studies
Leader. Each of these roles have come with struggles and nervous moments, but all of them were highly rewarding. Being a buddy taught me what it means to humble myself to the needs of another. Being a Cabin Leader taught me how to guide gently and with love. And leading studies has taught me how to laugh at myself. I had no experience with the disability sector before Camp Jono, and if I’m being honest – I was VERY nervous for my first year. I had no idea what to expect, or what would be expected of me! Thankfully there was a God honouring team on site that was prepared for everything I couldn’t be.
I can’t imagine a year without giving God all the glory at Camp Jono!”

“I got involved in Camp Sam through my church. It was such an amazing weekend getting to know everyone and all their unique abilities. I thought this was a great way to serve God by loving people with disabilities but as always, each camp has been an opportunity for me to see God’s heart for all people.
Camp Sam is such a fun week of activities. The best part is the talent night, where campers can share a dance or song without judgement.
This is a unique opportunity to share the hope of Jesus and love this group of people who may not have experienced God’s love. It’s amazing to see the unconditional love of these people, they are truly a blessing and I recommend that people give it a go because it is 10/10 amazing.”

For Adults

“Three things attracted me about Camp David. It is a Christian camp, it was for people with a disability and there was to be lots of worship/singing. I love the Lord, I love serving, especially the disadvantaged, and I love music. Camp David was an opportunity to use my skills right here in Australia.
I was most impressed with the organisation of the camp in general, the programme and the daily studies for both helpers and campers. The team of Christian helpers was a pleasure to work with; everybody pulled together wonderfully to achieve the main outcome of ensuring campers had a safe and fulfilling time. The campsite and staff were great. I shall be back and I highly recommend the experience to anyone who loves the Lord and has a servant heart.”
